I have decided to make a blog of notes for my University studies. Over the next few months I will be posting notes, thoughts and processes in the course of my research and study.

Week1:
Purpose of Honour year:

1.Primarily research idea.
2.A year for excellence in expertise
3.To use core research skills
4.Deliver a 5000 word paper
5.This will consist of form, tone and structure of a an essay

Seriously start thinking what are the issues that are important to your area (my focused expertise).
Research question: Your research must ask question and answer it.
Practice and reflection of skills
How achievable is my research.

Need to find cannon of works, a serious of text, work.
Some of the things that happened to Honour students in previous year:
>Over ambitious
>Massive work commitments.
>Lack of personal management
>Lack of personal planning

A thing that can happen to you in Honours year is to have incredible expectations on yourself.
Need to get preproduction done early.

Internship:
>must relate to your research idea.
The positive: Learning on the job
Insight in the industry
Mentor with project.
The negative: a lot of organizing
You will have to do it yourself
Can be difficult finding a meaningful placement
International student exchange can also take the place of an internship for honours
>Need to apply for scholarship
>Will constitute for internship.
In honours you need to ask yourself what you really want to do.
Next two weeks are important.
A lot of self management.

When do you want to do it?

>Portfolio
>Unofficial transcript
>Reference from academic supervisor
>Cover letter

Research the companies that you are considering doing an internship
What do they do?
For next week. Email revised project research proposal.
To find information about you idea look at
>Online journals
>Academic writings
>and library resources.

Need to find out what already out there.

Short Film project notes:
What do you want to learn?
What do you want to achieve?
Learning outcomes/what do I want.
To further develop your animation skills?
Story skills?

Identify what Ii can do better in the 4th year
Compared to what was made in 3rd year
Need a plan for the whole year .
Need to keep a track of everything so I don’t fall behind.
